Opening for Elementary School #43 Moved Up to 2021

Originally scheduled to open in 2022, Frisco ISD elementary school #43 will now be scheduled to open in the fall of 2021. This school will be built on the land northeast of FM 423 and Rockhill Parkway. It is adjacent to the Somerset Park and Hollyhock subdivisions.

The plan to construct this new elementary school was accelerated based on the most recent demographic update and with pre-k needs in mind. The campus will serve students in the growing northwest corner of the school district and relieve nearby elementary schools, which have seen increases in enrollment as new homes are built in the area. Construction is anticipated to be completed for the 2021-2022 school year. The attendance zones will be created in fall 2020.

The construction for this school will be funded from the 2014 bond program. The design for elementary school #43 will utilize a modified version of the previous elementary school design. Frisco ISD has selected Stantec Architecture to make changes to the design to include more open and flexible spaces, which are ideal for collaboration and active learning.

Frisco ISD is open to naming suggestions for elementary school #43.

  1. Harmit Singh says:

Our family would like to name the Elementary School Kamala Harris Elementary or K. Harris Elementary. School will be built in the same year as the first Woman Vice President to take office. Her slogan “Keep The Faith!” is inspirational for the New Year 2021 ahead.
