Get ready Frisco families for some serious theme park fun, because construction has officially begun on the brand new Universal Kids Resort!

This isn’t your average theme park, though. Universal Kids Resort, the first of its kind for Universal Studios, is designed specifically for young children and their families. Imagine a place where your little ones can be fully immersed in their favorite stories and characters – sounds pretty magical, right?

More Than Just Rides

The park will feature a variety of attractions, including rides, shows, and of course, character meet-and-greets. While specific characters haven’t been announced yet, you can bet your favorite Universal friends will be there to make memories with your kids.

Universal isn’t just bringing entertainment, though. The project has already created 2,500 construction jobs, and even more are expected once the park opens. This means exciting opportunities for Frisco businesses and residents alike.

A Place for Everyone

Frisco Chamber President Christal Howard is enthusiastic about the possibilities: “Residents can enjoy the park, work in the park, stay here, bring their families to the park… there’ll be something for everybody.”

Looking Ahead

The park is expected to open in June 2026, and will be nestled on a sprawling 97-acre plot. Only 30 acres will be used for the initial park, leaving plenty of room for future expansion – who knows what exciting additions might be in store!

A City on the Rise

Frisco City Council member Tammy Meinershagen is excited about what this project means for the city’s future: “This is going to really catapult the creative economy. We’re excited to see how it changes what the experience is to live in Frisco in a very positive way for the future of the kids…”
